TIME magazine has released their nine-person short list for ‘Person of the Year,’ but it doesn’t include Kim Jong Un, winner of the ‘Reader Poll.’

On NBC‘s ”TODAY” show Tuesday morning, the anchors announced the finalists: Yahoo! CEO Marissa Mayer, Egyptian President Mohammed Morsi, Pakistani youth activist Malala Yousafzai, Bill and Hillary Clinton, President Barack Obama, Undocumented Americans, Apple CEO Tim Cook and the Higgs Boson particle.

Notably absent was the North Korean dictator, who received 5.6 million ‘Definitely’ votes in the unofficial Reader Poll. The only finalists in the official competition to make the top 10 in the Reader Poll were Undocumented Americans (#3), the only ‘group’ finalist, and Mohammed Morsi (#10), who also received the most number of ‘No Way’ votes from readers.

Liberal activist Sandra Fluke and New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg didn’t make the official short list cut.

The winner, who will be picked by TIME editors, is set to be announced Wednesday morning, live on the “TODAY” show.
